Styling & Make up for Born Yesterday Video

Its Feb 28th 2010 and i am preparing for a long day ahead for Gil feat Ny's new music video ' Born Yesterday'.

ALERT, ALERT, ALERT- FASHION REALISTIC FIRST!!!!

Its 7am and i get a call from Ny asking if i am ready- She blatantly knew i went out the night before and most probably not had any sleep!!! I jumped in the bath and had mentally prepared my outfit, so I put on my white v-neck puff sleeve jumper with grey waistcoat, Grey Nike track pants and most would have put on trainers well me being the stylist that I am ... I put on my Grey, Yellow & Black heels......... Tracksuit bottoms & HEELS (U read it here first) 
Once dressed to perfection i drove to collect Ny, Fusnara , then made our way to collect Kiera Anderson the hair stylist. Car stuffed with suitcases & hair products, We drove to the set on Commercial Rd, East London. When we arrived the crew was setting up but they had breakfast ready and waiting for us which consisted of Bacon sarnies (Ny's a Veggie) Croissants,  Juice + Fruit!

Let the Magic begin

First things first set out all clothing provided my Apple Bottoms; Spin Agency for the Artist the Extra's in the video.

HAIR: Kiera began with the first hair look that myself; Ny had discussed for the overall look! This was all out but slicked to one side with slight curl at the end. This look was for her performance shot.

CLOTHING: I decided to put Ny in a sequin 1 shoulder embossed detailed dress, The style was sophisticated yet sexy to give Ny a mature sultry look. The dress fit her perfectly and revealed enough skin but kept it very classy. The hairstyle complimented the angles of the dress as it was not too much and did not detract from her performance. The accessories used were small earrings and black caged shoes to match the strap on the arm. A mental circular shape bangle was used to elongate her arms and body length, used to create illusion of height!

MAKE UP: First look was basic smokey eye, light blusher; glossy lips

NAILS: Clear color nails with Glitter base and diamantes on the index fingers only! (Perks of having a top nail technician as your friend Luv u Cat- Check out www.Glamourtraining.co.uk )

The shoot went underway and the director was happy with the Image of Ny and so was Gil the producer of the track.

Second Look

This scene was performed well and involved extras & a male model. Was set up on a circular track which rotated around the performance between Ny and her male model. The Extra's including myself- Yeah i got roped in also outlined the performance giving Ny the video concept support she required. (Her girls having her back)

My overall aim for the second look was to be more dark and mysterious, Visually more impacting to what the audience are used to expecting from Ny. I wanted to bring out her edgy image but still keep it sexy and suave.

HAIR:  For this look, Ny had a 1940's style quiff that cascaded into 2 cornrows to give a stylish 'Modern Twist to the quiff'. Kiera used holding spray and serum to complete the look- Ny looked completely transformed to her previous look.

CLOTHING: I put Ny in a A/W 2010 Exclusive Black Apple Bottom Leather Jacket with Gold detailing, X zip and Biker collar. Blue denim ripped crushed Apple Bottom jeans with Gold Studs in the x section stitching. Black and Gold closed toe heals with Gold Zip to ankle!  Black belt with Panther chain.

NAILS: Cat on hand, changed Ny's nails on set to a dark pearled Grey and left the diamonds on contrasting fingers.

MAKE UP: On her eyes i did Black feline shape flicks to cover the eyelid, with a silver underline to bring out the eyes. Creamy cheeks and nude matte lips with LIPSTICK- Lipstick is back ladies

Extras

The extra ladies had to get ready and then have a finale once over of approval by myself and Kiera to ensure Hair, Make up and clothing were on point.

The end product is going to be amazing- The director Kaz and his team were professional and i am sure Ny and Gil will be happy.

My favorite shot has to be the Opening shot all i am gonna say is that stance was ALOT!

Summer Body Project

GYM CLOTHING

Fashion incorporated into my Summer Body project- AskyourGirl &  Terrtag.com T-shirts, Topshop & Nike Leggings, Nike Rifts, Adidas tracksuits will be worn by the Team. it's vital that you wear comfitable clothing, breathable materials and the correct footwear to avoid any accidents! Heels on the treadmill just does not cut it!

If you know me thats all your going to hear from me is the 'Summer Body Project' 'Summer Body Project'

This consist of me going to the Gym and maintaining a healthy lifestyle over the next couple months. All in preparation for the hot weather that is coming our way! I want to be able to put on my bikini, sit on the beach and be fully confident. MISSION NOT IMPOSSIBLE!!!

I have been going every other day with my 'SBP Team' Just so you know I am the only female in the project but this is beneficial as the guys really do push me hard. This consist of my brother Theo, My friend Sheldon & Model RomeoValentino (follow him on twitter Romeovmodel)

Its important to go to the gym regularly as young females, Maintain a healthy body and mind. Even though i am already a dress Size 10 I feel that its more about the maintenance and keeping my body toned and feminine. I am 25 years old, many describe me as slim BUT i don't take it for granted- I too watch what i eat, you can't guarantee the metabolism is going to remain fast throughout life, its just not a good enough excuse. 

Like a few others i despise drinking H2o i think its disgusting but during my SBJ project i am trying to drink at least a litre a day to help flush my kidneys and help me survive my workout. Been going well so far! My Mantra is EVIAN is my friend! I like my clothes to fit perfect i don't want no bulges and flesh showing in awkward places. I like to buy my size and if alterations needed its because of the garment NOT ME!

WORKOUT DETAILS

I have been doing a minimum of 2 hours at the gym which is broken down to a 5 minute stretch warm up, 15 min power walk, 15 min run on the treadmill. Then  on to the machines for 1 hour working on Lateral pulls, seated assisted dips. Then 15 min on free weight exercises then the final 15-20 on mat exercises such as lunges, crunches, sit ups, press ups etc then finally a 5 min warm down. Ok thats over 2 hours but you get the point.

I will keep you posted on my progress, so far so good its been 2 weeks and my energy levels have increased and i feel more toned in areas than i did before.

The 52nd Grammy Fashion

The Grammys. and Oscars are maybe the most prestigious award ceremony's in the Entertainment industry. The designers bring out the best dresses and accessories and they use the most amazing stars to showcase there beautiful suits & gowns.

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards 2010

The lady of the night wore a Stephane Rolland dress. I thought the dress was beautiful mainly paying attention to the intricate detailing on the dress really brings this dress into a league of its own. The colour was complimentary to B's new golden tresses. The earrings set of the outfit and kept this beautiful lady 'Successfully beautiful and classy'. I think B knew she was gonna clean up at the Grammy's so she played down the red carpet outfit as the awards did all the talking.  **** Stars


Britney or shall i say 'Kick me' i thought her D&G dress was awful! I would have put Britney in a single or strapless tailored fitted shape dress. The detail at the side of the dress was beautiful however britanys leotard support knickers did not compliment the overall look. It would have been nice to see her hair up in a classy bun with a beautiful smokey eye and bold lip colour. **Stars


Mary J Blidge looked beautiful in this cut out Gucci gown. The colour purple really compliments her gold shortcropped hair style, with the individual drop earings really set the fitted gown off! Mary is a mature lady and looked her age and kept it simply elegant. The use of colour brought out the feist that we all love in Mary. ****Stars

Brit Awards 2010

The BRIT Awards 2010 with MasterCard. Took place on Tuesday 16 February at London’s Earls Court Arena commemorating 30 shows of the best in music. Now the Brits is usually a bit of a Shame but I must say I enjoyed this event. The best people won and the show was entertaining and showcased British Talent even hosted by Mr Peter Kay 

The show started with a Giant union jack performance from none other than Lilly Allen. Lilly has criticized the Brits but last night she finally won her award. She didn't fail to disappoint with her 'fingers up' to past people and the ceremony but in true lilly style she collected her award in a 'orange wig' which i thought looked great on her as she wore a black & white dress - She looked quirky and fun! 

Her performance was wicked I loved her eye makeup that matched her camouflaged fatigue print dancers and my favorite item was the vintage fashioned prams. (I used to roll in one of them available in Selfridges for ££££) Lilly looked mature in her laced backed leotard. Very noiiiice 






The Spice Girls , Melanie B looked amazing in her Shoulder pad cream white dress with gems encrusted round the neck. However i was not impressed with her new shaven 1 side hairstyle??? A mix between Cassie & Jason (horror character) It just did not look good! Mel, Mel, Mel ur hair looked like Hell- Did u see that rhymed lol.

However her other counter part Geri Halliwell looked very fresh faced and her age in her one shoulder dress & all her hair. Motherhood has done a lot for her as she looks complete- Do you remember the GINGER GERI ....A memory we don't want to revisit. Sorry my blog does not offer insurance so if you suffer from any eye injury or discomfort i am not liable so please LOOK AWAY NOW! 

Best International Solo Act Jay Z

He collected his award as Mr Sean Carter in a full 3 piece grey suit. I must say he is a BOSS MAN! Chic, suave & debonair as they come. Just so u know Mr Carter i saw the signs ;-) 

He performed as Jay Z, In my opinion this guy should be in the Hall of Fame, Jay Z or as Peter Kay said Jason to the Z,  is simply amazing im so glad he won and graced us with his presence and performance with the elegantly chic Alicia 'Miss' Keys. They both looked ridiculosy hot! Miss Keys wore a sequined v neck wrap short dress with matching 'Toilet bowl' black shoes. Her earrings were sexy to they actually matched Beyonce's Grammy dress (Just saying). 
If i was her stylist i would keep her in dresses as she has a shape to die for. Its important to work with your clients assets. As she is bottom heavy dark color's can create the illusion of a slimmer figure. When Miss Key's is wearing jumpsuits it makes her look very disproportionate. Hmm idea i need to restyle Miss Key's as she actually does not have her own unique style and to be honest she deserves my attention. Last night she looked amazing, sexy & classy.

 Jay Z's swagger was out of control, No jewels, no bling just stood with a magnitude of swagger wearing 'All Black' His oversized leather jacket with funnel neck detail was noicce and his simple Ray Bans and Black T, Fresh Black kicks just certified why he is who he is! My children will know his name. he is my Michael Jackson no offense to MJ or his fans but i LOVE Jay- Z, I am a true supporter.

       Dizzee Rascal represents for the UK  

Dizzee Rascal - As they say 'Better late than never' Dizzee Rascal finally got a chance to take home a eagerly anticipated Brit. This guy has worked so hard throughout his career that i felt the appreciation through my TV when he collected his award. In my heart though I felt that he was collecting the award for 'Every UK artist that has been grinding hard so in Dizzee's words ' I would like to accept to accept this on behalf of The Scene'. To see Dillion in his grey tailored suit was a nice change to his usually casual Jeans and tee look. I must say he really needed to tell his friend to leave the shiny blue/black suit at the Disco Fever costume store. 'Refunds are allowed within 28 days with proof of purchase' Mate take that suit BACK please. 

His performance with Florence was energetic and brilliant. Well done the Fiery red hair also took home the award for Best Album. 






JLS cleaned up at the Brit awards this year. I must say it has been a remarkable dream come true for the 4 boys. I was really impressed with there Aerial performance they looked good in there grey suits but word of advice Ashton please do up your shirt! Whilst watching my cousin quoted ' JLS a bottle of Bucks Fizz' Take from it what you will but there is something missing from that group.....Maybe its Swagger, i don't know but we can't upgrade them to 'Champagne status just yet'!!!
As MTV's Jasmine Dotiwala tweeted 'Damage would have been so proud'


The Brits would not be the Brits without the following

• Swearing
• Arguing
• Alcohol Abuse

Well the Brits did not disappoint and to ensure they captured the above mentioned points they made sure  Liam Gallegar was on hand. He swore, he was drunk/high, and was arguing with himself and to top it off he threw his microphone & award into the crowd. No i don't know how heavy those awards are but come on Liam what did the crowd do to you??? He has no behavior what so ever maybe the fact that his fellow Manquenian Robbie Williams and Jay Z his musical different genre rival won an award. 'Don't be bitter Liam, Its only a Entertainment show' LOL

Lady Gaga- 3 Awards

This artist is just dynamic in every performance I only ever expect the unexpected from her as she is just different. She looked amazing in her all white ensemble dedicated to the recently departed Lee McQueen. Her performance was 'Different & Interesting'. I loved her facial mask made from my grandmothers net curtains but it was really creative and made her look like a white swan. Lady Gaga has confidence to wear what she wore with her see through body stocking and only her modesty covered. Female empowerment at its highest.

Cheryl Cole

Wow what a great choreographed stage show, The first initial look was powerful, the white jacket with gold buttons & Black aviator glasses, the dancers were on point, energetic, beautiful and sexy. The male models physically appealing to me and all the other women drooling & looked great with there body painted tattoos. The clothing change over and remix of the song was needed and kept the crowd interested. When she came back out in her grace jones inspired hooded leotard with matching ruched belt i thought yeah you go Cheryl. I know Mr Cole has been sending inappropriate pictures to other woman and you want to show the world that it does not phase you, YOU DID IT!

HOWEVER......... Why was she miming???????? I am not gonna say nothing else on the subject other than  why cheryl why??

Favorite perfomance goes to:

Robbie Williams was brilliant, he is definitely 'Top Drawer material' I am glad that he won Life time achievement award. His performance was with a live band and he just kept the energy going and doing a medley of his songs was appreciated by the audience. As Simon Cowell said 'You don't have to be the greatest singer, but have charisma'. I will just add that you also need to have a stage presence & good old manchester swagger. Well done to you Mr Williams you have come a long way from Take That to a fully established solo artist.

Cat Deeley looked simply flawless in her all black outfit 


Fearn Cotton- KMT I was not impressed with her polka dotted dress- It was too small and she looked like she had a hunched back & did nothing for her figure! Fearn  usually looks a little bit more fashion retro but last night she just looked NO!


As the camera panned the crowd I caught a glimpse of Ndubz Tulisa looking stunning in a gold/cream mix dress with her hair pinned up- She looked beautiful.

Tom Ford looked simple but suave just like his website www.tomford.com

Rihanna's New Video 'Rude Boy'

Robyn Rihanna Fenty has come back even harder than her last music video (Hard feat Young Jeezy) with the eagerly anticipated next single of her Rated R Album 2009. The newly released 'Rude Boy' is the anthem to carry us ladies into 2010!! I have been playing this particular track and 'Rock Star' for a few months now and I must say the video does the track so much justice. 

The emotion behind this tune just makes me appreciate the relationship & behaviors between a male & female (LMAO). The song has so much attitude and gets me out of my chair every time i hear it! The song is definitely a energizer. 

The theme of the video is 'Bashment meets Fashion' Rihanna does not hold back by gyrating off her newly found figure, she looks sexy as hell but keeps it classy and seductive. 

The red, gold and green knickers and leopard print boots are way to cute and the hole affect jumpsuit is scrumptious. Loving the sequin cap as it creates a relaxed vibe to her character. Loving her dress that she is wearing whilst rocking out on the drums- Shows a more fun rather than her most recent 'demonic, evil, dark appearance that we have recently associated Rihanna with. (I love the 'Dark side' look Rihanna 'so nah worry bout it seen' lol (jamaican accent)

My favorite bit of the entire video has to be the black and white zebra effect ending- She looks flipping amazing and her quirky quiff (Jedward) hair style just completes the look. Not forgetting the writing on her ear!!!

Overall I love the concept and it shoots down Beyonce's and Lady Gaga's 'Video Phone which i hate watching because the video does not have any relevance to the song in my personal opinion.
