Kanye West Short Film

Just watch it and then read my review............Lets see how 'Normal' we all are...

Simone Karma Rae's Review:

Kanye West is '' I'm Speechlesss'' RUNAWAY..........Platform for Difference & Creativity! I was going to categorize in to Fashion, Themes, Music etc but I'm gonna flow from my mind So here it goes.

I am not sure why Kanye West decided to put this short film together but i must say i am in great anticipation for his Album 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy'.

Selita Ebanks
I enjoyed this film for its Controversy, Beauty, Music, Choreography, Cinematography, Style and artistic creation. Selita Ebanks as the 'Phoenix' was legendary......She had a leaf covering her Vagina. The costume was alluring and tasteful, the textures of the feathers came alive when she moved. I felt as though i was in a Theatre and watching a live Interpretation of Kanye's Mind.

Kanye directed the film and I am sure he chose the White people in white clothes for a purpose, The black people at the table in fine luxury suits and gowns. Tastefully done but i think this was to illustrate how roles have changed but is this significant? Regardless of colour we are all one people, Colour does not define who you are or who you will become. The Bird was ridiculed and looked upon as shameful and 'DIFFERENT'

The Phoenix said to Kanye 'Everything that is different, your world has to change'

That sentence summarised the ideas of most but not the characteristics of some.
The soundtrack was perfect and the choice of songs helped emphasis the points Kanye is making with his current creative direction.

The visual explains the title of his album - some scenes do not make sense but it shows we idolise and focus on the lessor evils in the world. Is Kanye paying Homage to Michael Jackson or is he mocking that we mourned the death of a 'mere mortal'?

I don't know the answers but i know how that Film made me feel, The Juxtaposition of music and scenes was beautifully executed. The contrasting ballerinas movement was expressive yet contemporary and poetic. I love the classical movement of Ballerinas. The history behind Ballet is more for an upper class, high society market however Kanye chose the Ballerinas to perform to his style of 'Urban' music and it worked.

Hype Williams is back!

Key line that stood out to me:

'Lost in this Plastic Life' Are we all lost or are we trying so hard to not be different?

Brings me back to my earlier article....Call me what you like, I'm anything other than 'Normal'

'Who will Survive in America'- the echoing of this in the background sent a chill through my body, I don't know why but it did!

So what did you think?

New Age Marketing

Adverts have emerged, Grammar, Elocution and normal behaviour have gone out the window! Adverts are more about the creative visual rather than the product. Have a look this is one of the BEST most memorable adverts i have seen this year!

Please mind the 'GAP'

I know we are still just embarking on the Winter season however I can't help but look Fashion Forward and start to focus on what i will be wearing in better Weather conditions. GAP have released a few images from there Spring Summer 2011 collection . I love the cool Blue, Grey and peach tones- I light fresh cool palette to take on the challenges of 2011. Have a look for yourself!
Love the Peach & Grey

Kanye's New Nashers

Party like a Kanye Rock Star, Kanye has traded his Pearly whites for the Diamond Million dollar smile! I like it, you might hate it MARMITE BITCHES!

Kanye west reveled his new bling on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

'DeGeneres asked West if the diamonds were a removable grill, which snaps over the teeth, but the rapper insisted they were permanent.

"I just thought the diamonds were cooler,” West said. “There's just certain stuff that rock stars are supposed to do."

Its his mouth let him do what he wants- Lil Wayne has it done - Don't criticise the Creative mind!

Kanye's New Teeth

Also controversy over his new Album Cover...........what can i say i get it, I get him!
?????
Kanye West is artistic some say sadistic however i just see him as pushing the boundaries and being creative with his ideas! Many genius have been quoted to being 'Crazy' but they have also been the minds that have created our present which was there 'Future'!

Smile Away boo!

MOBO's 2010 Fashion View

Wednesday 20.10.10 saw the 15th Annual MOBO award take place in the musical city of Liverpool- Birth Place of some of the musical masterminds of our times such as the Beatles.
Miss Dixon
Miss Dixon

The show was the usual Glitz and Glamour. The presenters Reggie Yates and Alesha Dixon kept it contemporary with there varied anecdotes and costume changes. Reggie had his geek squad glasses and suit, was not feeling the checkered trousers but hey its Reggie!  I must say I really loved Alesha's first outfit choice as pictured above, This reminded me of my very own Bindividual dress, designed for my 25th birthday party 2009 (sorry Alesha im too far in the future for you hehehehe). Alesha throughout the night tore up the stage in her futuristic garments, with the use of sexy shiny fabrics. I would give her 5 stars.  Her Make up looked flawless with the use of her natural tone and her extra long Slick Pony tail just set the look on fire!

tinie-tempah
Mr Tinie Tempah
Lets discuss the man of the year, Mr Tempah! To be honest I thought Tinie Tempah was gonna clear up the MOBO Awards, I am surprised he only got 2! This young man is the definition of 'Humble' he carries himself well and has not let the fame go to his head. I recently braved the cold in Manchester and went and brought his album Disc-Overy from HMV and my VERDICT is it's one of the best albums I have purchased this year.

Whilst I sat at home unhappy that I was unable to attend the awards due to illness :-( but i sent one of my faithful spies who gave me  minute- minute live updates on the old faithful blackberry messenger. I felt as though i was there live and direct on table 16 sssh!
Being connected to the ''Industry'' (posh voice) I had already heard whispers of a UK team performance so I was on the edge of my sofa waiting in great anticipation for this magnificent performance.

 Team UK Performance
Devlin
Then it came my little styder man graced the stage fully equipped with SWAGGER and STYLE performing Game-Over (He could have renamed the song 'Gamu over' as she was sitting in the audience) as the performance continued the UK All stars flowed out onto the stage starting with the incredible Giggs- Dressed in a smooth gentleman's Grey to Black shade tone jumper and matching scarf he performed in true laid back style- His voice seducing the masses OK well mainly ME, I love his voice I do! We saw a further 8/16 bar (I got the music lingo down) dropped by Professor Green , Tinie Tempah and my mate Devs or as you know him Devlin. I would be happy to call this performance the Lyrical Assassin performance of the Year......UK's MOBO elite.

MOBO 2010 Improvements
Wretch32
The  final performance could have only improved if  the following artist were involved:  My cheeky suave Chipmunk, Rugged sexy Griminal and the lyrical decapitation of Ghetts and Wretch 32.  It defo would have been SHUT DOWN CITY! GAME OVER start again, close the doors and please don't come back!
in saying that i am sure there is more to come #Watchthisspace (twitter tag)

Jessie J
It really would have been nice to have some female performances  UK ladies you REALLY need to get involved, Good Looks is just not enough! Ladies you are letting us down, you need to have the full package.
I would have loved to see my girl Jessie J up on the stage as she is on fire! This young lady is about her craft- Song writing (NO.1 Hit 4 Miley Cyrus Born in the US, Alicia Keyes next single all penned by Jessica Cornish), Creative Style, Swagger in a manner you can not bottle and sell as its just out of this world, she commands attention during her performance AND in capital letters....... her vocal ability will make you jump and up and down, spin around, touch the ground, slap your self and then call ya mama Jane even if her name is Marilyn (Hi mum).  I have been a fan and watching Jessie J musically for a while since being introduced to her by a mutual friend i am elated to know that her Album with be with us soon :-)
I think next year 2011 will be her year check her out on YouTube and you will know visually what I'm talking about. http://www.jessiejmusic.com

Who wore what?

£165.00 Adidas Tuxedo @ Selfridges
Skepta - ( Boy Better Know) came out whilst performing with Jay Sean rocking a sequined Adidas Tuxedo suit which was beautifully crafted and only Mr Adenuga could have executed with such style and energy. His outfit became a popular subject on Twitter.

3
Stone Island Coat
Tinie Tempah - Grey Blazer suit with white T-shirt and trainers with his signature Ray Bans

Roll Deep- Roll Deep were the most fun, there performance was vibrant and they all wore Casual Gillet in reverse colours. Breeze wore some glittered Ray Bans loved them.

Professor Green - On one of his performances he came out in a college varsity jacket- Bang on trend and he looked great in his all black jacket.
Tinchy Styder - Stone Island Coat also caused a stir- My blackberry and twitter was going crazy with excitement with question as to where he got the reflective coat. I was proud o inform the masses that the coat was available in the Choice store.

JLS - What can i say? hmmmm where to start BBC coat with bowler hat, black stripe v neck top, waistcoat, stripy gloves, Harem pants, workers dockers boots, hanging stuff Confusedtryingsomethingthatdidntworkatall.com

NDubz - As usual they brought energy and style to the show, Tulisa added the feminine sparkle in a beautiful peach cut dress. Dappy and Fazer kept is casual in all black Adidas jackets and signature head gear and jewels. I was upset with Tulisa gold dress as she obviously had a wardrobe malfunction and the dress should have fit her bust a little better rather than her shrugging it up- But i love Tulisa all the same had i styled her 'THAT' would not have happened!

On the night we got a chance to see awards presented my Jermaine Jackson, Hollyoak’s Star Calvin, Rochelle* 1 part of the Saturdays, Preeya Anand* plus many more

 Bitch Rant
*I hated Rochelle & Preeya's Glitter infected dresses* OH lord I felt as though my younger siblings chased them both around the room with crazy glue and GLITTER from Woolworth's kmt

Jermaine Jackson - needs to stay away from the Embroidery machine- SERIOUSLY!!!
Kanya Weave King

Kanya King - Silence ................Long Pause (20mins 2 be exact) then all i will say is Mutton dressed as GOAT, Little White dress Kanya ...Really....No Really.... Nooooooooooooo! That WEAVE also had a life of its own! Please call Hype Coiffure they will assist you. Don't get me wrong I love what she is doing!

Scorcher
Also a big well done to all Nominees but especially  Scorcher who has been working really hard this year and its nice to see that he is getting the recognition he truly deserves on a musical level.

If i have not mentioned you then obviously your wardrobe stylist ain't doing the right thing because i didn't notice you neither did my spy!

Lets see who took home a MOBO Ice Sculpture:
Best Newcomer - Tinie Tempah
Best UK R&B/Soul - Plan B

UGG Craze

The time has come for us to put away our sandals and flip flops as the colder months have arrived like a slap in the face. A hard leave a hand print in my face type of slap! OK now that I am over the emotional pain I would like to Discuss UGG Boots & Everything UGG

The Phenomimum off UGG boots have swept the world - I think it is possible that every female has a pair off UGG in there shoe closest. They have been reviewed as being like 'Slippers that you can wear outside the house' The sheepskin lining is so warming and you just feel like your walking in your house. When individuals think of UGG boots they assume they are just for females and there have been so many unofficial  bootleg styles hitting the high street. The quality of unofficial UGG boots have caused problems as they deteriorate rapidly, start to lean at the sides and generally look a  mess after a few wears.

Celebrities in UGG

However official UGG do not end up this way as they have been crafted to withstand high levels of wear and usuage'. I can understand females wearing them all the time as they are so comfy . The classic styles grace the high street daily and Celebrities can be seen wearing UGG boots, fitted Tracksuits and over sized sunglasses when they are trying to be incognito or travelling for lengthy amounts of time. I.e UK to LA 9 hour flights.

This Autumn Winter 2010 UGG have really surprised me and designed some really fashionable styles. They still have there classic styles as that is there signature boot.
Lynnea Stud Boot £230.00

UGG style team have pulled out all the stops and  now have created the Clog style, Montclair boots, Tall Boots & Bailey Button boots. My favorite have to be the Clog style as they are right on trend and can be worn with skinny Jeans etc.

**** We are also happy to say they have Men's UGG boots also - Now some may raise there eyebrows but if you have style a man will be able to pull these off! ****
Men in Ugg Boots

UGG not only make boots but they have designed a range of Bags, Hats, Ear Muffs and gloves. There is  no reason for you to be cold this Winter as  UGG aim to warm your coggles and keep you fashionable at the same time!
Chestnut Ear Muffs

Why not have a look at the latest collection and experience the 'Phenomimum' off UGG and gain a 'Real'  fashionable experience!

Reality Bites Back

Reality TV has taken over our lives. It appears that we are all addicted to being nosey-  Society is addicted to being a fly on the wall So unless you have been hiding under a rock of like Ferne Cotton you have been doing the incartrail in Peru you would have noticed  that X- Factor has returned to our screens but not without the added controversy that this years Judges decisions has caused.
Just to bring you up to speed
The Famous 2010 Judges
judges
Simon, Cheryl, Danni and Louie

Simon Cowell- Groups
Belle Amie, F.Y.D & One Direction
Louis Walsh- Over 28's
Storm, John Adeleye & Mary Byrne
Danni Minogue- Boys
Aidan Grimshow, Matt Cardle & Nicolo Festa
Cheryl Cole- Girls
Cher Lloyd, Rebbecca Ferguson and Katie Waissel

gamu11
Ganu Nhengu
Now you know the categories and the 12 contestants through to the live finals. It appears that the judges - Correction Cheryl Cole and Danni Minogue have received a major public backlash in regards to there choices. Danni Minogue is Talentless in my opinion however the person that has really disappointed us was Cheryl Cole. Cheryl Cole made a choice to put through Katie and Cher over the public favorite Gamu Nhenge. Gamu Nhenge wowed the judges in the first auditions and then even brought Louis Walsh to tears with her rendition of Adelle's 'Make you Feel Alive'. Gamu had been 'Consistently' on point, her singing was amazing and she never forgot her words.(I stress did NOT forget her words unlike Katie Weasel i mean Waissel'.

OK now lets rewind it back a bit...........(make that rwd noise please!......... OK now stop)

Cher Lloyd
Cher Lloyd on her first audition blew EVERYONE away with her Keri Hilson Swag on rendition. Her style was unique and edgy, her vocal rap style was on immaculate. With such a great first impression, Cher had alot to live up to watch her performance which attracted worldwide attention.

first Situation: On JUDGEMENT DAY she got in front of Cheryl Cole and Will-I-Am she was suffering from a sore throat. From the moment she opened her mouth the first note was Atrocious. Cher was not in tune and completely melted down. Cheryl gave her the chance to start again but her exact words were 'Im done' and she walked out in her spiral one shoulder Orange/Coral dress. Cher Lloyd really let me down compared to the astounding first audition. Personally i think she is a swag Cheryl Cole- When the camera zooms in her hair is ratty and her make up just looks unfinished.

Katie Waissel

Second Situation- Katie 'hmmm' Waissel  first auditioned and messed it up by forgetting her words to the song but begged and pleaded, The judges put her through, maybe they liked her quirkiness. Now at the judges house she came out in her cream lace camisole and cutesy umbrella - She looked fab with her larger than large feather black & white eyelashes. Let us set the scene......Beautiful Ascot Mansion, Cue Bob Marley's 'The sun is shining', Cheryl Cole in her sexy Loubotin shoes, Will-I-Am with his next generation goggles sitting comfy on the sofa. Then the piano music starts...... Breath Katie opens her mouth and a monotonous off key notes comes out. Katie attempted to sing Charlie Chaplin's 'Smile' she then got choked up and got teary eyed. All choked up she then started her Drama queen, Silvia Young theatrical behaviour. Katie started to bleat on that the song was a very emotional song and had allot of personal sentiment blah blah who cares! In the words of Will-I-Am 'she completely F-ed that up' Cheryl Cole then said commenting on what she saw 'What a Drama Queen'!

So it comes to the decision night- I could have bet my life that Cheryl would have chosen anyone else over  Cher Lloyd and Katie as there final performance was atrocious compared to what Talent was on offer. Cheryl did me proud by putting through Rebbecca Ferguson the diamond from Liverpool- She is my favorite to win alongside Belle Amie. Sorry to digress as i was saying.....Sipping a Earl Grey Tea & wiping away the crust from my mouth from my freshly bitten Croissant. 'I say I am no Simon Cowell' but Cheryl made her choices based upon there overall performances and FAILED to choose Gamu who had been consistently brilliant throughout the stages.  This triggered a public uproar, Blackberry Broadcast messages started, Text messages, Twitter went bonkers, A face book group was started talk about social Networking Pandemonium. Cheryl Cole was branded a racist  and before you knew it, it was a trending topic on Twitter. That means allot of people are talking about you. Unfortunately or Cheryl it was not in a positive light!

Headlines!

The media attention surrounding the Final 12 has graced front pages of every newspaper
The airing of the live show starts on 9.10.2010 and it was announced that there was going to be a 'Wildcard' twist. Speculation was that each judge had the chance to bring back 1 individual for a second chance. The public made the assumption that to rectify the decision that Cheryl Cole made, Gamu would be the wild card and the world would resort back to normality.  Before you sit back in your desk chair or your comfy sofa Check this out......................

GAMU IS FACING DEPORTATION Due to her Visa expiring due to her mothers original student status no longer existing. So as Gamu is facing being sent back to Nairobi with her dreams shattered There is no way she is the Wild card. You cant help but feel sorry for this young lady who has been in the country for over 5years just chasing a dream.  This is really the reality of reality TV, its no so glamorous after all!

I want to know your opinion
Is Chery to blame? Do you think the judges made the right choices? Who do YOU think is going to win the X-factor 2010?
