Chris Brown Tribute To Michael Jackson

This has to be my fav tribute ever, the raw talent that Chris Brown has showcased proves what a influence Michael Jackson has had on us all. The BET awards honoured the 1 year anniversary of the Kings Death. Chris Brown performed from the depths of his soul. I know he has been a bad boy by beating up Rihanna but we should not past judgement and allow him to make a mends.

I like to give credit where credit is due- He tore up the stage and his emotional ending had me in tears. The last chosen song 'Man in the Mirror' is my favirote MJ song of all time because he illustrates the importance of self reflection- Something that i do all the time in order to take myself further and push my goals. Chris Brown has accepted his wrongs and he knows that he is in a very important media position so in regards to Domestic Violence he has to make a change within himself. You can alway be forgiven by others but you have to be able to forgive yourself first before you appreciate the gesture. Accept your actions and deal with the consequences of life. It can only imporove the quality of life and person that you continue to evolve into.

Knowledge is taught, Wisdom is gained through experience.

Have a look for yourself..

Musical Review- Superman by Black Coffee Feat Bucie

You may be thinking BUT HOLD on she is a Stylist/ Make Up Artist  why is she doing a Music Review???????... Its my Blog so i do what i like!  This is something new for me BUT as i get a chance to blend in with the Industry i thought it would be nice to give my 'Valued' opinion . My favorite track at the moment is this beautifully constructed song by Black Coffee. They have brought us songs like 'You Turn me on' Big club tunes. April 2010 was the first time i heard this song. The Soulful vibe takes me back to a New York Loft apartment, open planned with wooden flooring and gigantic city view windows. Brown Rustic Chester sofa with a Bang and Olufsen sound system whilst I sit at the window with my journal and a fresh Long Island Ice Tea, with my hair pulled back in a slick ponytail, black framed glasses, white fresh fitted Benetton shirt and  Black heels

The soulful house beat just takes your mind away. The Vocals are amazing on this track as they compliment the instruments being played. The Lyrics just speak to my soul as every girl is looking for there ideal 'superman'. A very intelligent young lady once said to me 'Everyone has there VERSION of Love' This song explains my version lol. I have a styling idea for this video already hmmmm!

Here it for yourself.....let your mind drift away and hopefully my Superman hears your call!!!!

Let me know what you think?

What is it really?

Were now in June, 16 days from my  26th birthday and i am taking the time today to really analyze what is the real reason for a lot of our choices and decisions that we make? I have looked at so many different things Society, Music, Culture, Psychology and Politics- Yes they all play apart but i have decided to focus on:

      EMOTIONS
I believe that our emotions drive us in our decisions but each individual feeling determines what we are going to do i.e Lust, Anger, Happiness, Anxiousness     Lets Start with my first love......FASHION
When you you wake up in the morning, your day has been set your either in a good mood or bad mood, nice weather or bad weather. For me I don't open my blinds until I am dressed because I know how i feel when i wake up and I want to translate and celebrate my 'Mood' to the adoring public so I choose my clothes  to suit the day (she says) ahead! I choose the clothes depending on my mood. If i feel medioca i will put on Grey clothing! But if i am beaming and got out the right side of the bed i will put on bright clothing, light materials such as cotton to illustrate my mind set! For example this particular day June 24th 2009  I was in a good mood as I was preparing to celebrate  my 25th Birthday. I decided to take some pictures to celebrate my lifes journey up to the age of 25.        In this picture I am wearing a Topshop check shirt- This picture captures my spirit even down to the bangle on my wrist! I am not looking into the camera for this shot because i wanted it to reveal that I am a Dreamer, Always looking beyond the reality. The bright make up was chosen by me to reflect my inner mood of Happiness and satisfaction with my lifes journey.

In this picture i was not in the best of moods and i again can see that it is reflected in my ALL BLACK outfit. Black is associated with DEATH and SADNESS when I am sad and not feeling my usual Bubbly self i wear Black clothing. My eye make up was black and bold along with my chosen accessories. I had received bad news day before and it had a impact on my overall August month. However Black can be Powerful and be used to make a statement. The only color injected in this picture is my Purple highlights- Can't completely hide away now can I! (Winks)
Every girl has that 'DRESS' this divine outfit, fits every curve perfectly, accentuates where it needs too, minimizes what it has too and you know when you put it on its gonna cause a problem! Beyonce made a song about it so if you don't have one you need to get one! This Dress plays with the emotion of Lust. We create that sexy inner Diva to play, captivate that particular male interest. Guys don't laugh you too have those jeans or that particular shirt that you put on that makes you look like you just stepped off the runway from London Fashion Week, That fragrance that electrifies a woman from across the room (PACO MILLION) to top it off you make sure before you step out you pop to the barbers to get a 'shape up or trim'. I have lived with a man I know the drill!
Clothing really does reflect your emotions. If your feeling slightly vulnerable for what ever reason or you lack confidence 9/10 I can identify YOU as you will be wearing some form of Knitwear i.e a Cardigan, Hat, Scarf  or even a hood. This applies to men too! This is your physical safety net and you feel safe and secure shielded from the outer world.  Clothing can provide such a comfort i know when i cant be bothered i throw on a boyfriend shirt & my favorite ripped baggy jeans or a Tracksuit!     How does Anger affect your choices?  When you are in angry mode- You don't want no one to bother you, be near you or in your personal space!  Imagine your mood, embrace the facial expression, the pumped up chest, the brisk walk, the heavy legs and the fact that your 2 eyebrows are meeting because your frowning so hard now your just step out of Oxford Circus tube station or Time Square. So you got 1000's of people barging past you with there shopping bags, screaming babies, Ticket touts, Police Sirens then you in your haste get stopped by a lovely young girl called Jessica and she stops you and asks the following question:  'Would you like to donate money to the Great Ormond St appeal? Your Answer: No i flippin wouldn't Charity starts at home, have you not got a job to be at?Now normally you would politely say Yay or Nay or sorry i am  in a rush thank you.  Ok, i went a bit extreme but you get my drift.....As a easy influenced society we need to understand and learn to Master our Emotions, once we do this we can become personally more fulfilled and continue to be motivated and follow our dreams  and destiny! Let Fashion be your Motivation and allow it to embrace your true style! Turn that frown into a smile!   For more information on this read Tom Greens 48 Laws of Power - it is a insightful book and opens your eyes to a lot more than we allow our self to be!       Let your heart be your guide if not Simone Karma Rae can change your mood, Mwah xx

Festival season

It’s June 2010 and do you know what makes this the most significant month???? It’s the start of FESTIVAL season. Glastonbury, Wireless, Download, Big Weekender, Summer Ball, T4 on the Beach, T in the Park.
Sounds Good doesn't it? I know exactly where I will be. This is the chance to go and Party in the open countryside, No music restrictions, No toilets!! just get with the vibe and rock out.

Festival Experience (I need crowd participation, Visualization)
You’re watching TV with your friends, Festival ad comes on you look across to your mates and you all get the look in your eye, Conversation goes a bit like this:

Simone: Wow Wireless Festival Lily Allen, Pink, Missy Elliott, (Wipes brow) Jay I mean Sean Carter!
Karam: Gorillas headlining Glastonbury, Emi (choke) Eminem is headlining T in the Park alongside Kasabian, Black eyed Peas, Calvin Harris & David Guetta
Ash: Hold on come again (Jumps up), David Guetta is performing hopefully with Sexy Fergie, Where, time, date?
Shona: Snoop Dizzle is going to be where (Big grin)?
Darren: I’m supporting the UK, I just heard Pixie Lott & Plan B are performing T4 on the beach
Simone: Ok so we all in?
GROUP: YES

Excited we jump online and you book your tickets for the festivals, (Sigh of relief)
Your overwhelmed with excitement that you Sofa surf over your mates in full preparation for the upcoming Festivals then it hits you………. What’s the weather going to be like?

This is the biggest problem that every Festival goer faces, the weather is predicted as Hot but for the last 10 years its hot but then it rains which causes A LOT of MUD! No one wants to get muddy and you don’t want your experience ruined.

Key Trend:Wellington boots are a must have this season and really do set off the festival
I can suggest a few key fashionable essentials (as we @ choice are all about the Fashion) so that you look the part and you have a FULL Festival Experience

•    A pair of fashionable wellington boots
•   A Trilby hat
•    Fashionable T-shirt
•   Chino shorts/ Trousers rolled up
•    Festival Dress
•    Survival Kit
•    Sunglasses

I have personally added in a few other items that you might like to rock for your fetival looks- Check them out! (Boots & Bangles can make your outfit)

A must have in your wrdrobe is the DENIM shirt:- Whether its over-sized, fitted, puffed armed, wrapped, 3/4, cropped you get the idea

Now that you have all the correct 'attire'  you should be ready to take a stroll and head to your 'Festival'  repeat after me…..
Festival Swagger Convention
''I , …(Your name)……am now certified Festi-swagger fresh, I aim to sing along to every song at the top of my lungs, Jump up and down, take pictures and enjoy my Festival experience and when it rains, pull out my Poncho from my survival kit, if I stay over I have my toothbrush & toothpaste, when my favorite performer performs use my Kleenex to wipe away the tears of joy, At night I will pop out my glow stick so I can be identified. When I try to sneak backstage I will put in my ear plugs and say to the security
‘Sorry mate, can’t hear you’ Finally I will add my own character and bring about my S.K Raed certified swagger''

VA-G – Streetfest 010′ Update!

In this picture (left) Simone Karma Rae the brains that works closely with us at VA-G in terms of styling and more and Vidal Bull (right) one half of the Creative Director Duo @ VA-G HQ. On the day as well it has to be said Miss Karma Rae (posh name) also showed us her selling techniques by luring a numerous amount of customers and making sure VA-G’ brand awareness was second to none. She knows her help is always appreciated.

As stated in our previous post we are still a bit tired from Streetfest 010 the other day @ the Streetfest Market in Shoreditch but fashion does not stop for anyone. We met and was introduced to many different people from the UK and Europe who were all interested in the brand and our ongoing. The likes of Daily Street, Adidas, J. Communication (French Fashion Consultancy) and Peridot Dancers just to name a few (they bought out the shop, lol).

All in all the whole day started @ 8am for us and ended @ 1am, but we can’t complain. The response was superb and we couldn't ask for it to have gone better, everyone really liked out VA-G Plaque shot. Not only did we have people travel down from outer London to purchase some goods but consumers from Europe really appreciated our Cut n Sew wear which now is on its last legs.

This pretty much finished our whole day nicely. Adidas PR saw our brand and garments and really liked what we were working with. So much that they showed Mr Hudson (right) and so we conversated about fashion and how much he appreciates looking good both on a casual day but performing as well. He described his love for the brand and lets just say he is 1 of our number 1 supporters. Thank you to all attendees and for those that missed out, make sure you do not miss out next year.
