Fishy Feet Friday

People, I appreciate we all need to take care of our feet by wearing the correct size socks and shoes or going to get a regular pedicure. So in true pampering style i am use to paying £25.00 and getting the little Vietnamese lady to hook my tosies up. The 'Normal process' is  i.e putting my feet into Hot water with some lovely smelling bubbly blue water, They then bring out the Instruments and start scrubbing with the Pumice stone and brush - If you have excessive dry skin on your heels they will draw for the scraper thing and onwards and upwards they start scraping away your crusty last week sole. I don't need the scrappy things because i use exfoliating scrub on my feet daily. However i do make them do my toenail bed area to make sure the cuticles are fresh and painted with a french manicure.

This weekend I was in my Hometown of Manchester with my beautifully pregnant sister Nicole (she is in her final trimester) We decided to go baby shopping as we ventured through the maze called the Trafford Centre we came across a shop which literally had people queuing outside. So me being the retail nosey parker that i am, we decided to take a peek. Well to my amazement I was faced with 16 large tanks full of these little grey/brown fish SUCKING ON PEOPLES FEET!!!!!

My instant reaction was .....WTF is going on, I instantly took a picture on my blackberry then called my big sister Monique, who was in hysterics when i described what i could see. My sisters comments had me in hysterics

Me: Monique, I'm in Trafford centre and there's fish sucking on people's feet
Monique: Are you serious Simone?

Me:Yes Monique little crusty fish are eating people's feet
Monique: Sim, call the RSPCA that cruelty to Fish!!!!

At that moment i burst out laughing and continued to Interview one of the customers who was undergoing the treatment...
(No feet or Fish were hurt in the undertaking of this footage) 
Me: Oh my gosh does it hurt?
Dry Feet lady: Its not that bad, you can actually feel them chewing on your feet, but it dont hurt
Me: What possessed you to undertake such a crazy method of pedicure
Dry Feet Lady: I heard about it and thought let me give it a try?
Me: Do you have Goldfish at home?
Dry Feet Lady: Yeah, i do
Me: Would you stick your feet in your gold fish bowl
Dry Feet Lady: No way!
Me; Point Made.....Poor Nemo and his cousins have to eat your dead skin
Dry feet lady: Its very therapeutic
Me: For you maybe but not for the dead fish that choke on the crust and look @ the dead ones at the bottom

My heavily pregnant sister decided to go and speak to the lady at the counter and ask if the Fish are fed food other than dry skin? She reported back that they get fed daily.

I am still bemused by the 'Fish Spa' - I personally could not undergo the treatment because i think its just a bit to different for me and i am extremely ticklish in that area.

Berlin Bread & Butter Show 2010

The famous fashion event Kicked off this week wed 7th July -Friday 9th 2010 in the fashionable country of Berlin. Hosted in a old airport hanger its is massive, I attended last year July 09 and thought it was the best place to be ever! If you want to see all the Spring/summer 2011 products, Style and trends that are gonna be showcased over the upcoming seasons then this is the Trade show to be at.  Last year the highlight for me was seeing Christian Audigier arrive in a helicopter then being shuttled across in his personalised lambo. The Christian Audigieur/ Ed Hardy stand was  spectacular they were giving away limited edition skull encrusted bags with Swaroski crystals embellished against a leopard print fabric and leather strap handles. They were showcasing babies/Kids wear, Underwear, Jewelery, Accessories, Men and womanswear. Whilst looking at the brand William Rast, Justin Timberlake walks in with a string of paparazzi, It was revealed JT is working closely with the designer on possible collaborations.


The BBB show is broken down into different sections, which house a variety of brands
Fashion Now- Birkenstock, Motel, Fly London, Coral Blue
Street Fashion- Monkey Business, Two Angel/GoldLab, Tom shoes
Sport and Street- Nike, Fila, Reebok, Adidas, Lacoste
Style Society-  Shine, True Religion, Creative recreation
Denim Base- Guess, Levi, Diesel, Boss Orange, Adidas originals
Urban Superior Women- Jean Paul, Noa Noa, Sacks, Vanzetti
Urban Superior Men- Marc O Polo, Luke, Marithe + Francois

Shows like this place you in Fashion Heaven, You get a peak into the Fashion for the next 18 months. This event is mainly popular with Buyers and Distribution channels as they make key connections at such events and decide with there merchandising team whether the brand would be successful within there retail arm. i.e Choice stocks numerous brands.The general layout of this event is on a grand scale, Imagine Heathrow airport stocked with clothing! You enter through a airport terminal and your ticket is your Passport into the Fashion Terminal. The staff are in traditional airport uniforms and the Fashion Brands are listed on the Terminal computers above your head as though you were departing to a fashion destination. Also on the conveyor belt you can collect  what they call a 'Fashion Bible'. The fashion Bible consist of all the brands that have a stand/stall at the trade show.

Luckily for me because i have the connections, BBB offer a shuttle service from numerous locations to the main event- So myself, working with the remarkable Baby Phat team got shuttled from Our hotel in a Brand new Black X6 with the BBB logo on the doors. The concierge look like they were from Men in Black. The image was amazing about 100 blacked out BMW 745 and X6 lined up. This year its sponsored by Audi
The Stands; Each stand is a mini replica off a walk in store..... Marble floors, plasma TV, music playing, Clothing on wall brackets. Each time you enter a stall your pass is scanned and you are greeted by a representative of the brand and you can be offered a complimentary cocktail or soft drink. My favorite part of  attending the trade show was the freebies.... Yes i said it Free Stuff- I left Berlin with so many bags and free T-shirts its unbelievable..... As i write this blog entry i am wearing a Two Angle Free tee from last years BBB show (Mutley snigger into hand)

If you are into Fashion as much as i am :-) then you may want to attend this event as there is allot going on over the three days including musical performances. This year sees Janelle Monae perform on the centre stage The Gstar show last year blew me away and the male models were drop dead gorgeous oh and i loved the little gangsta gnomes that Firetrap had placed around there stand. Its also has a outdoor market where you can make purchases from smaller brands i.e buying T-shirts and books and the most creative items of Art work.

Lindsay Lohan (24) the 'Troubled' celebrity has been sentanced to 90 days in jail today due to breaching her probation yet again. Instead of being in court she decided to remain in France- Great look Lowey!!!

Lindsay Lohan has been on a downward spiral the past few years- She has been in the media eye for her same sex relationship, Drug Rehabilitation and now Drinking & Driving violations. She has been in films such as ParentTrap, Freaky Fridays & Mean Girls to name a few!

No celebrity is immune to prosecution and facing imprisonment: Lil Wayne, Lil Kim, T.I are just a few major celebrity's who have had there Freedom taken away from them due to Criminal activities. Moral is no one is immune to the situations in life!




Linday Lohan has been in the public eye since the tender age of 11- We all want to be famous but is it worth it? Look at the stars that we idolise there life is under scrutiny daily, They can't have a secret even if they tried. If its not your husband/boyfriend selling sex tapes or images, Your best friend disclosing all your business or your staff stealing your personal belongings and selling for a profit. Is this really what being a celebrity is then to be fair i will happily remain being ME!

My Summer 2011 Must have Accessory

The New Range Rover Evoque had its first unveiling last night. The fashion icon Victoria Beckham was asked to open the show put on my the remarkable Vogue magazine. 

I think its simply divine and for £30,000+-  (Released Summer 2011)
'I will own & have this sexy, charasmatic, elegantly constructed vehicle in my life!'- The above picture is my perfect visualisation tool/shot- My car set in my soon to be home New York City - (Brooklyn bridge in the background) I can smell my Juniors Strawberry cheesecake callling for me now!!!!!!!!

In order to achieve my goal I need to get back to WORK!!! I.E 24/7 constant - Unless someone wants to get it for me :-)

Chris Brown Tribute To Michael Jackson

This has to be my fav tribute ever, the raw talent that Chris Brown has showcased proves what a influence Michael Jackson has had on us all. The BET awards honoured the 1 year anniversary of the Kings Death. Chris Brown performed from the depths of his soul. I know he has been a bad boy by beating up Rihanna but we should not past judgement and allow him to make a mends.

I like to give credit where credit is due- He tore up the stage and his emotional ending had me in tears. The last chosen song 'Man in the Mirror' is my favirote MJ song of all time because he illustrates the importance of self reflection- Something that i do all the time in order to take myself further and push my goals. Chris Brown has accepted his wrongs and he knows that he is in a very important media position so in regards to Domestic Violence he has to make a change within himself. You can alway be forgiven by others but you have to be able to forgive yourself first before you appreciate the gesture. Accept your actions and deal with the consequences of life. It can only imporove the quality of life and person that you continue to evolve into.

Knowledge is taught, Wisdom is gained through experience.

Musical Review- Superman by Black Coffee Feat Bucie

 
You may be thinking BUT HOLD on she is a Stylist/ Make Up Artist  why is she doing a Music Review???????... Its my Blog so i do what i like!  This is something new for me BUT as i get a chance to blend in with the Industry i thought it would be nice to give my 'Valued' opinion . My favorite track at the moment is this beautifully constructed song by Black Coffee. They have brought us songs like 'You Turn me on' Big club tunes. April 2010 was the first time i heard this song. The Soulful vibe takes me back to a New York Loft apartment, open planned with wooden flooring and gigantic city view windows. Brown Rustic Chester sofa with a Bang and Olufsen sound system whilst I sit at the window with my journal and a fresh Long Island Ice Tea, with my hair pulled back in a slick ponytail, black framed glasses, white fresh fitted Benetton shirt and  Black heels 

The soulful house beat just takes your mind away. The Vocals are amazing on this track as they compliment the instruments being played. The Lyrics just speak to my soul as every girl is looking for there ideal 'superman'. A very intelligent young lady once said to me 'Everyone has there VERSION of Love' This song explains my version lol. I have a styling idea for this video already hmmmm!
